The Turf Locks Inn:

For us one of the best places to eat is at The turf locks inn. A small adventure to get there - this is part of the fun & makes The Turf a real destination pub 

By bike, ferry, boat, kayak, paddle !! This unique Inn is only accessed this way & this is what makes it a must do on your holiday stay in exmouth. If going by bike then head along the river to topsham , take the small ferry across the river to the canal - have lunch at the Turf then make it a full round trip towards Starcross where you can jump in the ferry back to exmouth. 

Rockfish 

Our favourite fish  & chips in Exmouth, run & owned by Mitch Tonks.  Locally caught fish served overlooking the River Exe & Dawlish Warren this is an ideal place for lunch or evening meal. Grilled or with batter: options for take home also. Book here

The River Exe Cafe 

The floating cafe in the river can be booked to include their own water taxi else paddle yourself. A unique & memorable experience serving incredible food. Book here

The Pizza Garden 

Run by a local family & cooked in the wood fire pizza oven with fresh ingredients grown by them. Guests often say this is an ideal way to eat on their first evening so that Les time is spent in the kitchen. Order online 

Otterton Mill

'One of the best places in Great Britain to have afternoon Tea' - set in one of Devon's coastal Valleys this working watermill is a must to experience their artisan bread, local food & music. Walk/ Bike along the otter to really absorb this special area of outsanding beauty.

The Fish Shed

Owned by a former scallop diver, The Fish Shed in Topsham is highly regarded as one of the best Fish and Chip and wet fishmongers shops in the country. Dave Kerley and his wife Ondine are true artisans with so much passion.

At the Fish Shed, you'll find the catch of the day within 12 hours of it leaving the sea. And, if you're feeling lazy, Dave and Ondine will cook it for you... It's not just battered cod and crispy chips; discover grilled John Dory with hand-dived Scallops and Samphire Grass, Indonesian Monkfish curry or one of Ondine's renowned poke bowls.
